Evgeni Obuchowski Named Space Auto’s September Employee of the Month

Some of the most important work at Space Auto happens behind the features our dealers use every day. It takes engineers who understand the details, care about the business, and see opportunities to improve things before anyone asks.

This September, we’re recognizing someone who brings all of that to our team: Evgeni Obuchowski, our Employee of the Month.

Evgeni is a senior software engineer with a background in eCommerce and a central role in Space Auto’s AI development. He’s modest about his contributions. The rest of us have plenty to say about them.

He built the agent infrastructure behind DAISI, Space Auto’s AI platform, developed a substantial amount of the backend powering our automotive CRM, and continues to push forward the work that makes our platform increasingly agentic.

For a dealership, that work shows up in practical ways: a shopper gets an answer after hours, an appointment gets confirmed, a quiet lead receives a relevant follow-up, or a salesperson gets a task when their attention is needed. DAISI’s agents work inside the dealership’s workflows, with tools to act and controls that define how far they can go.

Our website and CRM share the same database. That gives our agents a connected view of customer activity and conversations, and gives dealership teams a shared record to work from. Building the infrastructure behind those interactions is a major part of turning our vision for one platform into something dealers can use.

Evgeni’s background helps explain his approach. His earlier eCommerce work includes Magento development, payment and shipping integrations, search improvements, and team leadership. He also presented on Magento 2 memory optimization at MageCONF 2017. Making software work better while using resources more efficiently has been part of his work for years.

That curiosity extends to the projects he shares on GitHub. His Browser Agent project explores browser automation driven by what an AI agent wants to accomplish, with an approach designed to reduce unnecessary overhead. OpenClaw Cloud Backup adds encryption, cloud storage, and restore tooling to agent backups. And codex-cursor-proxy connects Codex sessions with development tools such as Cursor.

Taken together, those projects suggest an engineer interested in the practical questions around AI: how it takes action, how it fits into existing tools, and how to keep the systems around it useful and dependable. Those are questions we care deeply about at Space Auto, too.

What makes Evgeni our Employee of the Month is also how he works. He’s always looking for ways to help Space Auto grow, save money, and solve problems. He doesn’t need a customer complaint to start looking for an improvement. When he spots an issue, he brings it forward with a solution and takes ownership of moving it ahead.

I especially enjoy collaborating with him because he gets excited about other people’s ideas. He listens, sees the possibilities, and helps build on them. His creativity makes the work better, and his enthusiasm makes the process more fun.

Beyond the engineering, Evgeni is a wonderful husband and father, and an awesome teammate. We also have a running suspicion (actually we know it as fact) that somewhere in his house, a Raspberry Pi is running a local language model that handles his personal tasks and grocery shopping so he can focus on more important things.

As Space Auto keeps building the next generation of dealership technology, Evgeni is helping shape both the software and the way we work together.

Congratulations, Evgeni, on being our September 2026 Employee of the Month. Thank you for the initiative, creativity, and care you bring to Space Auto. We’re lucky to have you.
